great & glamorous A local architect seeks out designer Dawn to bring her stylish vision to life. Taking cues from the homeowner’s fashion-forward aesthetic, Dawn brought in a high-contrast palette of classic black & white layered with bold textures, refined materials and pops of color.
Using a stepped moulding technique on the ceiling, Dawn defined the space into two areas: one for gathering, and one for conversation. The floor plan was opened up to establish a family-friendly environment. Bold, feminine qualities were worked tastefully into the modernized space. Custom built-ins are surrounded by floral wallpaper and art deco-inspired hardware.
Dawn incorporated pops of color and unexpected elements through rare furnishings such as a blue mohair sofa and leather-draped chairs. Decor was hand-selected and sourced from local artists. Within the space, these unique pieces mix with luxurious materials to balance the drama of the crowning jewel—the fireplace.
