bold beginnings A lively successful executive brightens up her charming historic Tudor. But before design was underway, the home craved order and function. Layouts were reconfigured to allow for beauty and comfort to coexist.

Dawn envisioned an interior that reflected her client’s bold and dynamic personality. An eclectic art collection served as a muse for her approach. Starting with the living room, she used inherited African masks as a key decorative element inspiring curiosity and intrigue. Seeking to create a dialogue between old and new—Dawn restored and cleaned up the original plaster, painted original window frames a high-gloss black in lieu of treatments, and peppered handmade brass accents throughout.

The natural curvature of the bannister a moment of play. An inherited restored wooden cabinet, a moment of warmth in the new mod space.

The dining room a display of regal and layered elegance. Moody indigo walls set the tone, Italian black lacquer stiletto chairs hug a round marble dining table, setting the scene for frequent poker nights to come.
