etched out An art aficionado’s condo is enlivened with an eclectic charm. The homeowner collaborated with designer Dawn to orchestrate a custom, curated space—one that showcases his cultivated style and cherished antiques, artwork and travel relics.
A salon-style Bauhaus daybed paired with antique furnishings, atmospheric art and elegant French sconces set the tone for the new motley space.
To frame the narrative, the homeowner’s extensive collections were thoughtfully displayed throughout the home and balanced out through art-deco inspired detailing on window treatments and upholstery.
Dawn drew inspiration from the homeowner’s passion for fine art—injecting the spirit of the Renaissance with quality craftsmanship, sophisticated materials and bold patterns. Everything was purposely positioned to mirror a gallery-like interior, blending history with charm. The entry sets the tone with hand-carved, locally-made doors adorned with crystal knobs.
The powder room is formal yet warm with antique bronze, custom walnut cabinetry, Italian imported sconces and carved marble sink.
In the kitchen, warm walnut cabinetry was custom-designed to establish a cohesive, functional flow and properly display the homeowner’s beloved Italian pottery. The Romanesque space is emulated through Italian valance embellishments, ceramic decor, patterned rug and bronze detailing. The reformatted layout incorporates a custom banquette suited for formal dining.
